Alethea is a Linux-native, agentic digital forensics platform designed to automate the complete forensic investigation lifecycle—from initial case understanding to legally admissible report generation—while ensuring the investigator remains fully in control.

Powered by on-device AI models via Ollama, its modular orchestration engine integrates with proven Linux forensic tools (such as Sleuth Kit and Volatility). It operates entirely offline for maximum privacy and features a robust 'Human-in-the-Loop' architecture where the AI asks for explicit confirmation before executing any major actions.

To ensure that investigations remain forensically sound and court-ready, Alethea enforces strict chain of custody protocols. Every action is backed by an immutable audit log, timestamped execution tracking, input/output SHA-256 hashing, and automated methodology documentation.
